  • Disfrute Pineapple Ginger Lager

Horse & Dragon, Fort Collins 5.1% When Josh told us he and Ellen were playing around with fermenting tepache at home and might want to incorporate some of the ingredients in for a Horse & Dragon lager, we were intrigued. A little discussion and research revealed that this traditional Mexican fermented fruit beverage is now made with pineapple, ginger, cinnamon, and chiles. Thinking that that many strong flavors might overwhelm the great lager base he had planned, Josh decided to limit the recipe additions to pineapple and ginger. We can’t think of a more refreshing summer drink. Ginger on the nose combines with floral and tropical hop notes. Sipping the beer you could just enjoy a light and eminently refreshing summer beer, or you could try to analyze the different stages of grain – no ginger – no pineapple – no hops — on your tongue. Like a beautiful tropical umbrella drink, only better, because: beer!
